What happens when animals get sick at the zoo?

When animals fall sick at the zoo, they're immediately attended to by a team of dedicated veterinarians and caretakers. They monitor the animal's condition, administer necessary treatments or medications and ensure the animal is comfortable. Some zoos have in-house hospital facilities, where more severe cases can be handled, including surgeries. Animal's diets may also be adjusted to aid recovery. It's no easy task, but the ultimate goal is always to ensure the health and wellbeing of these incredible creatures.
